Delhi police is finalising a traffic plan for athletes coming for Commonwealth Games on the basis of a tentative schedule submitted today by the organising committee about their movements.
Athletes and delegates from several countries are expected to arrive in the capital from September 20 for the event from October 3 to 14.
A senior police official said they have received a tentative schedule from the CWG organising committee and traffic arrangements are being finalised accordingly.
The traffic plan includes how to ferry athletes from airport to Games Village in Akshardham and from there to practice venues spread across the city.
The arrival of athletes and delegates are expected between September 20 and 23.
There will be an exclusive lane on stretches leading to all competition venues from Games Village. Though there is no reserved lanes for practice venues, a motorcycle patrol will make way for athletes to go to such facilities.
