Colin Montgomerie has left no stone unturned, says Thomas Bjorn

"You just can't ask a question or question something that he hasn't thought about already," Bjorn said in France where he is competing in this week's Vivendi Cup.

European captain Colin Montgomerie's meticulous attention to detail in the build-up to next week's Ryder Cup has impressed his four vice-captains, Thomas Bjorn said.

"Monty's just thought of everything, and everything there is to know about everybody he knows," said Dane Bjorn, who twice savoured Ryder Cup victory over the United States as a player in 1997 and 2002.

"You just can't ask a question or question something that he hasn't thought about already," Bjorn said in France where he is competing in this week's Vivendi Cup.

"Bernhard (Langer) was that way and is one of the captains I personally liked and Monty's the same because he knows everything about every member of the team.

"He wasn't scared to appoint four people, in the four vice-captains, who have big opinions in his team because a lot of captains would be scared to have that strong a back room team but to Monty''s credit, he believes you have to be as strong as you can at every angle.

"Judging by how Monty's been conducting affairs so far we are looking pretty good."

Bjorn's selection as one of Scot Montgomerie's vice-captains was somewhat controversial given their sometimes ''frosty'' relationship in the past.

The pair notably clashed on the first day of the 2004 Johnnie Walker Championship in Bangkok when organisers of the event had to ask both Bjorn and Montgomerie after their rounds to go to separate rooms to 'cool' down following some heated words on the strangely-named Alpine Golf and Country Club course.

That episode has long since been forgotten by Bjorn who said Montgomerie, who went undefeated in eight singles matches in the biennial contest, had already been and continued to be an inspiration to the European team.

"There is only thing that is on Monty's mind at present and that's his job to deliver Europe victory," said Bjorn.

"I've played with Monty in past Ryder Cup teams and he''s been great those weeks I''ve played with him.

"He's been very much superb in the team room and we have loved to play under him, and everyone has always got on very well with him, and at times far better than they would have under any other captain.

"He's a great inspiration when it comes to team golf and he''ll do a captain's job where he'll make sure that he's done everything for the team to perform."

The Ryder Cup starts on Oct. 1 at the Celtic Manor resort in Wales.
