Injury plagued Australian fast bowler Brett Lee will be coming to India in the coming weeks - though not for cricketing reasons.

The 32-year-old is scheduled to perform eight shows in India with his musical band called White Shoe Theory His good friend Mick Vawdon is also part of the band as a vocalist.

"Our musical influence would be Crowded House and bands similar to that. Mick is the lead singer and he has a great voice. We've known each other for years and he's been singing for a long time. I do the back-up vocals and play the bass," Lee was quoted as saying by the Sydney Morning Herald.

The duo of Lee and Mick is also likely to release their music album after the India tour.

"Jimmy Barnes is a friend and we told him about what we were doing and he said straight away that we could use his recording studio, that in itself was a thrill and we are happy with the way the tracks are sounding," said Lee.

"Music is my passion, no doubt about that. I would want music to be my future - who doesn't want to be a rock star. I've always joked that I was a musician who used his sport to prop himself up but the India tour could be a real chance to make a go of things."

The cricketer is also no stranger to the musical scene in India. He is famously remembered for his duet with Indian musical legend Asha Bhonsle four years ago.

The tall fast bowler has also featured in a Bollywood movie called Victory in which Harman Baweja was the leading actor.
