It's been quite sometime that former cricketer Aakash Chopra is having a Twitter war with S Sreesanth regarding the latter's chances of playing for India again. But on Friday things took an ugly turn when the pacer, on whom BCCI has imposed a life ban following his alleged involvement in the IPL spot-fixing scandal in 2013, called the commentator 'two faced'.

Recently Sreesanth's plans to come back to competitive cricket were dashed as BCCI denied him NOC (No Objection Certificate) to play league cricket in Scotland. It is then that a fan asked Chopra on Twitter whether the Kerala lad has a chance to make a comeback in the national team or not. The former opener's answer was clear and simple - 'No'.

Sreesanth couldn't agree with Chopra as he replied, "@cricketaakash @im_jeswin I will make a comeback brother..can't believe u don't believe that I will play again..anyways God bless us."

But the issue wasn't resolved as Chopra while replying to another fan said, "Sreesanth might be eligible to play fitness wise but in his view, someone who is once booked in spot or match fixing shouldn’t be allowed to represent the national team ever again. Those who put the nation and cricket at stake for their own benefits do not deserve a second chance."

This infuriated Sreesanth who tweeted, "@cricketaakash how can u be so 2 faced?? Bro?? Ashamed to even call u that ..really sad to know (what have u replied?? Really..I will play."

The cricketer-turned-commentator also had a reply in store. "Not two-faced. That's my opinion and I stand by it. Never told anyone anything else. I would have the same opinion for my own brother," he tweeted.

Another Twitter user then pointed out to Chopra that he had praised Mohammad Amir who was making a comeback after serving a five-year ban from international cricket but is critical of Sreesanth. Chopra had a counter logic for that. He said, “Incorrect. Criticised his comeback. Appreciated his bowling. Two different things….”

Sreesanth then fired a lethal bouncer saying, “@cricketaakash I hope ur comments about desh drohi…..etc,also includes the other 13 people who was charged Nd the unopened envelope..”

The former Delhi cricketer was in no mood to sway away from the argument as he said, “I didn’t use the word ‘desh drohi’ but yes, my opinion on this issue isn’t subjective. One rule for everyone.”

Sreesanth however, was determined to prove Chopra wrong saying, "@cricketaakash I will play for the country no matter how small my chances are..trust me on that..mai cricket Dil jaan se kheltha u”

Finally Chopra decided to end argument by tweeting, “@sreesanth36 I wish you well. God bless.”

The fast bowler then thanked his followers for supporting him.

In May 2013, Sreesanth and two other Rajasthan Royals bowlers - Ankit Chavan and Ajit Chandila - were arrested for alleged involvement in spot-fixing. All three players were later banned for life by the BCCI.

In 2015, Sreesanth was cleared of spot-fixing charges by a Delhi trial court due to insufficient evidence under the MCOCA act, a special law passed by the Maharashtra state government to tackle organised crime syndicates and terrorism.
