Xiaomi has announced their next event for July 16 on Chinese social networking site Weibo, with the Mi 5 expected to be the latest product launch.

The invitation doesn't reveal much beyond the date for the event, but it does appear to be a side profile of a new phone in the poster, with a metal frame. So far, there's only rumours that the featured phone is the Mi 5.

Recent leaks on Weibo also claim to have the specs of the Mi 5 on hand. They claim it has a 5.2" display, with Gorilla Glass 4 and 2.5D edges, and a Snapdragon 810 processor, but no indication of the RAM yet. It's also rumoured to have a 16MP rear cam and a 13MP front-facing shooter, and powered by a 3000mAh battery.

Also rumoured is the Mi 5 Plus with a 5.7inch QHD display and Snapdragon 820, as well as 23MP/12MP rear and front cam combo within an all-metal body, though it's still unknown whether the Mi 5 will have any metal exterior. The Mi 5 Plus will be powered by a 3500mAh battery.
