Apple announced the iPhone SE not long ago, at the company’s ‘Let Us loop You In’ event held at its Cupertino headquarters. With all the features (except 3D-touch) of an iPhone 6S in a compact 4-inch smartphone, only time will tell if this was a good move for the company.

Now, Xiaomi has taken a page right out of Apple’s book with rumoured 4.3-inch smartphone, reported by Gizchina. So could we see a return of the 4-inch smartphone? Or have we already?

The new 4.3-inch smartphone from Xiaomi will purportedly come with the latest Snapdragon 820 chipset, 720p HD display, 3GB RAM, 32GB of inbuilt storage and a 13-megapixel rear camera with no optical image stabilization.

A leaked image of the smartphone shows a home button that is expected to house a fingerprint scanner.

The phone is reportedly going on sale sometime in June for around 1799 Yuan (approximately Rs 18,400).

If the rumours are true, then we could see a new era of small smartphones that sacrifice little to nothing in power and functionality.
