Gollywood flick on diamond workers to go overseas

After receiving aan overwhelming response in Surat and other parts of the state, Gollywood flick Have Maare Heera Nathi Ghasva (I don’t want to polish diamonds anymore), which is based on the life of diamond workers, gears up for an overseas release.

The film which is based on the plight of diamond works will be released in Chicago and New Jersey in US, Leicestershire in UK and Antwerp in Belgium, which have a strong Gujarati population, with English sub-titles. The film is likely to be released abroad in July end.

“The film has generated good response in Surat, which is why we have decided to release it abroad to cater to the large Gujarati diaspora,” Atul Patel, CMD of Modern Moviee Pvt Ltd, the producer of the film, said.

According to Patel, the movie has already done business of over Rs20 lakh which is the total production cost of the film. Producers expect the film to end with a collection of more than Rs1 crore. The film completed 50 days in Surat last week and was released in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Visnagar few days back.

The movie surrounds the life of a person, who comes to Surat from Saurashtra for earning money. He starts working as a diamond polisher and settles down. Everything goes well for him till recession hits. The film portrays the lead character surviving the slowdown. 

The film also has a good dose of humour to keep the audience glued to the seats. The actors portraying Amitabh Bachchan, Gabbar Singh, Rajkumar, Sachin Tendulkar and Nana Patekar are shown working as diamond polishers.

“The movie has struck an emotional chord with the audience, especially those connected with diamond industry,” Patel added.
