Two more samples sent from Hyderabad have tested positive for H1N1 flu even as the government banned the import of live-stock, including poultry, and meat products to check any outbreak.

“Live-stock and live-stock products shall be prohibited from all countries, in view of notifiable Avian Influenza,” the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) said in a notification.

With the latest cases, the total number of confirmed cases in Hyderabad has gone up to seven. Interestingly, the two fresh cases too are from the same British Airways flight BA 277 that had brought three passengers with the infection to the city.

India has been largely insulated from H1N1 flu that broke out in Mexico. WHO has reported 6,497 confirmed worldwide.
