Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurapa left New Delhi after three days without succeeding in his mission. Though there were expensive celebrations to mark the first anniversary of his government in Karnataka, the disciplinary action he had anticipated against dissenting ministers in his government, did not take place.

Yeddyurappa had hoped the central leadership would take disciplinary action against power minister KS Easwarappa, but it was not forthcoming.

BJP president Rajnath Singh said he met Easwarappa and sought an explanation over some allegations of electoral malpractice he made against the CM. “He said the remarks were taken out of context and that it didn’t imply that the CM had anything to do with the malpractices,” Singh said.
