Three get 10-year jail term for raping minor

A Delhi court has awarded ten years rigorous imprisonment to three persons for gangraping a minor after luring her to accompany them to her village in Uttar Pradesh on the pretext that her parents were ailing.

A Delhi court has awarded ten years rigorous imprisonment to three persons for gangraping a minor after luring her to accompany them to her village in Uttar Pradesh on the pretext that her parents were ailing.
 
Additional District and Sessions Judge Ina Malhotra found accused Nanhey, Raju and Ram Niwas, all residents of a village in Bareilly in UP, guilty under various provisions of the IPC relating to gangrape and kidnapping.
 
The convicts, who were co-villagers of the victim, came to her house on February 22, 2004, in the national capital where she had come to live with her brother.
 
They asked the girl to accompany them to her village saying her parents were ailing, the prosecution said.
 
During the travel, the convicts ravished her. Later, the brother of the vicitm lodged a FIR alleging the gril has been taken away by his three persons of his villager.
 
The girl, in her testimony, indicted the accused saying they misled her and raped her during the travel to her village.
 
Public prosecutor Anita Hooda examined 15 witnesses to
prove the case.
