'Dance India Dance' ends with a bang

Muhammad Salman Khan (23), who won Zee TV’s reality show Dance India Dance on Saturday, will be shaking a leg with screen idol Salman Khan in one of his forthcoming films, the shooting of which takes place on Sunday. This is in addition to the Rs50 lakh contract with Zee, which the young dancing star won as part of the prize.

The event was held at the Andheri Sports Complex. Yesteryear superstar Mithun Chakraborthy crowned Bangalore boy Khan amidst deafening applause, with a hat made of pure gold, as the four-month-old reality show that has managed to keep viewers hooked despite the IPL matches, came to a close.

“I will be moving to Mumbai with my family soon and my Bollywood dreams will come true. I always knew that I would win the show. I have sacrificed a lot for winning the top prize here,” said the junior Salman. The only girl competing in the finals, 18-year-old Alisha Singh from Ranchi, came second, while Mumbai boy Siddesh Pai (22) came third.
