A govt engineer, who was caught taking Rs 1,000 in bribe, was today sentenced two years in jail by a Bikaner court, 237 kms from here.
    
According to DG ACB (Anti Corruption Bureau), KS Bains, Assistant Superintendent Engineer (ASE) Moman Ram Beniwal of the Ganganagar Kendraiya Sehkari Bank, located in Hanumangarh district, was caught red-handed in year 2004 while accepting a bribe of rupees Rs 1,000 from manager of Gram Seva Sehkari Samiti at Bhadra sub division of Hanumangarh in lieu of writing inspection report of Samiti in his favour.
    
The court also imposed a fined of Rs 5,000 on Beniwal.
    
Challan against Beniwal was submitted to the court in July 2005, he said.
