Prosecution seeks NBW against 35 wanted accused

Special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam said that it had transpired that these 35 wanted accused, had aided and abetted in executing November 26 attacks.

The prosecution in Mumbai terror attack case on Monday urged a special court to issue non-bailable warrants (NBWs) against 35 absconding accused, including Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, alleged mastermind and the chief of operations of militant outfit Lashkar-e-toiba.

The court said it would pass an order on the prosecution's plea before framing charges against the accused.

Special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam said that during the investigations it had transpired that these 35 wanted accused, who belong to LeT, had aided and abetted in executing November 26 attacks with military precision and training between December 2007 and November 2008 in Pakistan.

Besides Lakhvi, others wanted are LeT chief Hafeez Muhammed Saeeed, Abu Hamza, Abu Al Kama, Abu Kaahfa, Mujjamil, Zarar Shah, Abu Fahad Ullah, Abu Abdul Rehman, Abu Anas, Abu Bashir, Abu Imran, Abu Mufti Saeed, Hakim Saab, Yusuf, Mursheed, Aakib, Abu Umar Saeed, Usman, Major General Sahab, Kharak Singh, Mohammed Ishfak, Javid Iqbal, Sajid Iftikhar, Col R Saadat Ullah, Khurram Shahdad, Abu Abdurrehman, Abu Mavia, Abu Anis, Abdu Bashir, Abu Hanjla Pathan, Abu Saria, Abu Saif, Abu Imran and Hakim Saheb.

The prosecution's case is that Lakhvi was the alleged mastermind of the terror attacks in Mumbai and he had handed over maps of target locations to the attackers before they left Karachi for Mumbai by sea.
