Cotswold Arms wins

Cotswold Arms signed off the Mumbai Racing Season on a winning note lifting the Maharaja Sir Harisinghji Trophy, the main event, on the last day of the Mumbai season at the Mahalaxmi Race Course on Sunday. Trainer CD Katrak and jockey Daniel M Grant emerged best in their respective fields.

Apart from the trophy, what was more inspiring for the duo was the fact that they made it to the big league for the first time in their career. Champion trainer and the defending champion, Pesi Shroff finished with the second position.

Mumbai Derby winner’s jockey Brazilian SA De Souza ended the season with the fifth-place finish. Defending champion jockey C Rajendra also had to be content with the second position.

“It has been a good season and despite the problems in the racing circle, the sponsors have come forward with their contributions and made the season a success,” said Vivek Jain, chairman, marketing and media, Royal Western India Turf Club.
