Stray dogs kill child

A three-year-old female child was killed by around five stray dogs in Puranewala village of this district on Tuesday, police said on Wednesday.

The victim was identified as Priyanka daughter of a migratory labourer Rammu from Uttar Pradesh.

The parents of victim were engaged in harvesting of a field of one Avtar Singh and they left their child under the shade of a nearby tree.

In the meanwhile some stray dogs  from the nearby animal carcass arrived and attacked the girl.

After hearing the cry of the child parents rushed to the spot and in the meantime the stray dogs injured the child profusely. The parents immediately take up the injured kid to the village doctor. But due to the seriousness of the girl child the doctor refered her to civil hospital.

Before the parents reached the civil hospital the girl child breathed her last.

This was the third incident of stray dogs during the month which proved fatal.

The first incident occurred on April nine at village Samdhbhai when a 14-year-old student was attacked by the stray dogs while the boy was returning home from the fields and killed him on the spot.

Another incident in the same village occurred on April 11 when stray dogs injured a boy seriously.
