BJP on Wednesday, maintained it has no dispute with its ally JD-U over the Varun Gandhi episode even as its key ally felt legal action should be taken against Gandhi for his reported hate speech.

"There is no dispute," BJP general secretary Arun Jaitley said when asked to comment on senior JD-U leader and Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar's statement.

"Legal action should be taken against him (Gandhi). I feel he cannot escape the legal action in fact," Kumar earlier told reporters commenting on Allahabad High Court dismissing the BJP candidate's petition, which sought quashing of FIR filed against him in this matter in Pilibhit.

Jaitley also denied any dispute with JD-U over seat sharing in Bihar and Jharkhand. There were reports of possibility of some reconsideration over the seats allotted to both parties in Jharkhand.

Under the seat sharing agreement between the two parties, JD-U is contesting 25 seats in Bihar, leaving 15 for BJP while in Jharkhand, BJP is contesting 12 of the 14 seats leaving two for JD-U.
