Lalu's brother-in-law joins Congress

Two days after being snubbed by RJD in seat-sharing for Lok Sabha polll in Bihar, Congress on Thursday sought to drive a wedge in the Lalu Prasad-led party by
admitting his controversial brother-in-law Sadhu Yadav and annoucing that the party would be contesting more than 26 seats in the state.

Other RJD leaders who joined Congress include RJD MP from Banka Girdhari Yadav and senior party leader and former union minister Ramai Ram. The RJD leaders joined the party in the presence of senior Congress leader Sushilkumar Shinde, AICC in-charge of Bihar, Iqbal Singh and Bihar PCC president Anil Sharma.

Hours after the seat-sharing announcement by RJD and LJP for Bihar two days back which saw Congress being given just three Lok Sabha seats, Sadhu Yadav and Ramai Ram had revolted and met Shinde along with another senior leader Jai Narayan Nishad who later joined JD-U in Bihar.

LJP chief Rami Vilas Paswan has claimed he has no role in the development.  Congress had been riding piggyback on RJD in Bihar for the past ten years and was given just four seats even in the 2004 Lok Sabha elections.
