The slow process of prime minister Manmohan Singh’s recovery continues apace. The prime minister hosted his staff members for high tea on Tuesday evening and will be playing Holi with 40 school children on Wednesday morning.

Sources in the prime minister’s office (PMO) described the prime minister as being fit and healthy. He spent some time chatting with the staffers and appeared anxious to put them at ease.

He is expected to play Holi with 40 school children, but as VIP Holis go this, too, is expected to be a simple tika affair, with just a symbolic colour being applied on the prime minister.

The prime minister has avoided playing Holi in the last few years be it because of the tsunami in 2004, or subsequent earthquakes in Kashmir and other such disasters.
“He is now on the road to recovery and we are happy to say that he is slowly taking up his old working style,” said a PMO official.

He will be travelling to London for the G20 summit on April 1, but he is expected to keep engagements at a manageable level and not operate at his old levels, the source said.
