A suspected member of Indian Mujahideen's media cell, accused of drafting terror e-mails relating to serial blasts across the country, was on Tuesday, remanded to 10 days police custody by a Delhi court.

Mobin Kader Sheikh, 24, was produced before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaveri Baweja who remanded him to police custody till March 12.

Sheikh, an alleged accomplice of Mohd Mansoor Asghar Peerbhoy, a computer engineer, who allegedly sent terror e-mails by hacking wi-fi systems, was brought in the capital by the Special Cell of Delhi police from Amarawati in Maharashtra on a transit remand.

According to the police, the accused, who is a graduate in computer science, used to draft the e-mails which were sent to different media houses minutes before the serial blasts at Delhi and Ahmedabad.

He was arrested along with Peerbhoy and Asif Bashruddin Sheikh by the Mumbai police last year.

Peerbhoy had already been sent to police custody till March 9 after being brought in the capital on February 28 for his alleged role in the September 13 serial blasts in the capital.

Meanwhile, a court here extended the judicial custody of five suspected members of Indian Mujahideen Mohd Saif, Mohd Shakeel, Zia-Ur-Rehman, Saquib Nissar and Mohd Shakeel by 14 days.

The court of Metropolitan Magistrate Ashish Aggarwal remanded the accused, who allegedly carried out September 13 serial blasts here, to judicial custody till March 17.

All five accused were sent to judicial custody in cases registered with Karol Bagh, Greater Kailash and Barakhambha Road police stations.

It also posted the hearing on an application of accused Zia, seeking compact discs of images allegedly retrieved from seized mobiles as well as cellphone call detail records of the accused, for March 17.

Delhi police had already filed the chargesheets in all five cases registered in connection with the serial blasts here which had claimed 26 lives and left hundreds injured.

The accused have been booked under various provisions of the Indian Penal Code including those related to murder, attempt to murder and waging war against the country.

The police also invoked the provisions of the Explosive Substances Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
