England football star Frank Lampard has confirmed his split with ex-fiancée Elen Rives by putting their 8.5million pound town house up for sale.

The England and Chelsea midfielder is asking around the same price he paid for the six-bedroom, six-bathroom Georgian property in 2005.

Lampard will lose a fortune after spending one million pound on the semi - just a stone's throw from Chelsea's ground Stamford Bridge, The Sun reported.

Spanish model Elen had insisted on moving there from their Surrey farmhouse because she felt too distant from London's party lifestyle.

The couple was together for seven years, but Lampard was twice caught with other women. Now they are locked in talks over access rights to their two kids and splitting his 25million pound fortune.

Lampard had been dumped by Rives, with the latter claiming that the passion has gone out of their lives.

Elen moved out of their London home with their two children after a heartbreak holiday away from him in Florida.

Lampard has now reportedly bought her a house 10 minutes from their three million pound family home so he can stay close to his two daughters Luna, two, and one-year-old Isla.
