Freida and Dev shoot a few hoops

Slumdog Millionaire has certainly pitchforked the lead pair of the film Freida Pinto and Dev Patel into the big league.

Now the duo have been specially invited by the cash rich National Basketball Association (NBA) of USA to attend the crowd-pulling All Star Games which will be held in Phoenix on February 15. The All Star Games sees top basketball players from several clubs participate in it and has become one of the highest TRP grabbers for television channels. There are other events too leading up to the games and those will be held on February 13 and 14.

Freida and Dev, basking in the success of their underbelly film, will be present on all three days. A source reveals, "They (Freida and Dev) are making an appearance at the NBA All Star Games on 13th, 14th and 15th of February. Slumdog… has become quite the buzzword in many countries and US audiences have specially liked the film. The awards from different film festivals and the Golden Globes and Oscar nominations have added weightage, not only to the film but also to its stars. The popularity of these two has soared in the States and that has earned them a special invitation from the NBA. The who’s who of USA, from bureaucrats to celebrities, will attend the games."
