Those who love watching EastEnders have one more reason to tune into the show next month, for they might just spot pop superstar George Michael doing his antics with the caste members.

The 45-year-old singer has made no secret of the fact that he is a huge fan of the BBC1 soap and would love to appear in an episode.

And now his dream is all set to come true, for reports suggest that he has landed the chance of a cameo role on the show.

According to insiders, an upcoming storyline will see Albert Square's obsessed George Michael fan, Heather Trott (Cheryl Ferguson) discover that George is back in London following a tour.

Thus, she decides to go in search of her heart-throb along with best friend Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) to help her find the pop legend before ending up on the shocked star's doorstep.

"Heather is completely obsessed with George Michael. He is the love of her life," The Daily Star quoted the EastEnders insider as saying.

The insider added: "So when she finds out he is back in London she decides that she has got to go to see him.

"Everyone thinks she's a little crazy - but Shirley knows how much meeting George would mean to her tubby pal. Viewers will see the pair wait outside George's house for him to come home.

"But what follows next is being kept closely under wraps."

However, an EastEnders spokesman claimed to be unaware of any plans for the singer's appearance.

But he added intriguingly: "We would be delighted if he wanted to make an appearance - as would Heather!"
