Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president Suresh Kalmadi on Tuesday admitted that security was a concern for the Commonwealth Games 2010 but said the proposed visit of a security officer of the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) to India was a "routine matter".

The security officer is expected to make recommendations to Organising Committee of the Games, to be held here, on the security arrangaments for the safety of players and officials in the wake of Mumbai terror strikes in November last year.

"Whenever there is a big event (CWG) like this, there is a security adviser appointed by the CWG Federation to inspect the arrangement.

"It is a normal process and this time also before the Commonwealth Games 2010, a security officer will come and inspect like it happened during the Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune", he said.

Kalmadi also said that they were leaving no stone unturned to ensure fool proof security arrangement for the 2010 Delhi Games.

"Security is always a matter of concern. During the Youth Commonwealth Games we took proper steps and in Delhi we will take additional steps. We are in talk with the Home ministry and the lieutenant governor is meeting experts from Israel.

"We are procuring all required equipment to ensure 100 per cent safety. We can't afford to lower our guard in these times," he said.
