Among several material evidences, arms and ammunition found by the investigators onboard the trawler Kuber, one thing intrigued them the most - a global positioning system (GPS). The GPS indicated that the terrorists were expected to halt near the union territory of Diu. The police are trying to find out if some terrorists were
offloaded there.

According to a senior coast guard official, a coastal map was loaded in the GPS. “Four locations were marked as destinations - Karachi, Porbander, Diu and Mumbai,”
he said.

The officer said that Karachi was obviously the starting point; Porbander was the place they had earmarked to hijack another ship; and Mumbai their destination. Diu is the only area still unaccounted for.

One of the possible angles could be that some terrorists got off at Diu, said the coast guard official.

Police commissioner Hasan Gafoor, however, trashed this theory. Interestingly, Kasab, the only terrorist arrested alive, reportedly told the police that 15 of them had set sail from Karachi. Only 10 of them have been accounted for so far.

Gafoor, however, vehemently denied reports of 15 terrorists coming from Karachi. “I categorically deny that there were 15 terrorists involved. Ten of them came from Karachi and every single one has been accounted for,” he said.
