BANGALORE: Following terror attacks in Mumbai on late Wednesday night, the England performance programme squad at the Chinnaswamy stadium will leave for home in the next 24 hours.

The team had arrived in Bangalore for a high performance camp that commenced from November 22. The team was supposed to have left for Mumbai on December 3 for a week-long training before the series opener in Ahmedabad on December 11.

The England media manager, Mark Ward told DNA, “We are waiting for further instructions by the British Foreign Office and the England Cricket Board (ECB) about our stay in Bangalore. We will not go to Mumbai in the wake of these attacks.”

He further added that the ECB and the BCCI will have a meeting in Bhubaneshwar to
decide on whether to go with the two match Test series.

The second match is scheduled to be played at the Brabourne stadium in Mumbai from December 19.

The 17-member squad includes former England captain Michael Vaughan and Test players Monty Panesar and Andrew Strauss.

The squad, which is still in Bangalore, had a gym session in the morning followed by an indoor practice session on Thursday at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

The camp also included a three day match against the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) players on November 30, which is also uncertain.
