NEW DELHI: Accompanied by hundreds of supporters, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Monday filed her nomination from the New Delhi constituency here.

Dikshit walked the short distance from her official residence at 3, Motilal Nehru Marg  to the returning office at Jamnagar House in Shahjahan Road with about 500 supporters, all carrying Congress' flags and scarves, shouting slogans and cheering her on.

Although no prominent face of the party accompanied her on the walk, she was joined by Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president JP Agarwal in the returning office.

After filing the nomination, Dikshit said: "I have full faith that the Congress will come back to power for a consecutive term and we will win with a big margin."

"I am confident that I will win from my constituency," Dikshit, who has been chief minister for 10 years, added.

Tuesday is the last date for filing nominations for the Delhi assembly polls on Nov 29.
