MUMBAI: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has expressed desire to contribute to the relief operations in flood-ravaged Bihar.

"I offer whatever is desired of my family and me to do to alleviate the sufferings of our brothers and sisters in Bihar," Bachchan wrote in his blog.

"Let somebody take charge, take a decision, draw a plan, whatever; collecting funds or material, I shall contribute. But how and where? somebody tell me. I will do it."

The actor, who is on `Unforgettable Tour' world concert with his family, actors Ritesh Deshmukh and Preity Zinta, is currently in Paris.

Big B feels pained by suffering caused by natural calamities in Bihar and also the US. "Bihar. Hurricane Gustav. Such misery. And so painful to witness the suffering."

Bachchan said he always wondered where and how the system gives names to the terrible natural occurrences.

"I believe, and I may be completely wrong, as this is my personal observation, typhoons are in the Pacific. Hurricanes in the Atlantic."

"And the names? They are in alphabetical order. If its the first Hurricane of the year, then a name beginning with the letter "A" and so on. So Gustav is the 7th Hurricane of the year and Katrina was the 11th. Also...and please do not get on to my gender bias case. Why are most hurricanes bearing female names?", the superstar asked.
