School girl dies during I-day celebrations

BANGALORE: An eight-year-old girl died of cardiac complications during independence day celebrations at a government primary school in Chikkerura village in Haveri district on Friday, police said.
  
Akshata, standing in a school parade, collapsed when the national flag was being hoisted in the school premises, Haveri police said.
  
She had a previous history of "cardiac problem" and was scheduled to leave for Bangalore on Friday or Saturday for medical treatment, they said.
