NEW DELHI: Although speculation is rife that Mohammad Asif is Indian Premier League's first dope offender, the Pakistani pacer said he is baffled to see his name being dragged into the controversy even though there is no official confirmation.

"I have no clue about the dope test report and I have not been informed about anything in this regards," a bemused Asif told 'Times Now'.

The embattled pacer, who was embroiled in a drug scandal in Dubai and served 19 days in detention for possessing contraband drugs, once again finds himself under the scanner.

Asif was intercepted at the Dubai airport, on his way home after playing for the Delhi Daredevils in the IPL.

In 2006, Asif, along with new ball colleague Shoaib Akhtar, had tested positive for nandrolone even though the duo escaped a ban.

IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi earlier confirmed that a sub-continental pacer has failed the dope test and with reports saying that Shoaib Akhtar was not even tested at the event, the needle of suspicion turned to Asif.

Asif, however, insisted that that the WADA report does not mention any names and therefore the speculation about him being the dope offender is baseless.
