Fire guts down property worth Rs one cr

HYDERABAD: A fire broke out in the printing press of " Prajasakhti" telugu daily on Sunday here estimatedly gutted the property worth Rs one crore, said the sources in the fire brigade said.

The staff members noticed smoke billowing out of the press in the morning at about 8.30 am and alerted the fire department, police said.

Two fire enginees extinguished the fire that broke out in the cellar of the building owned by CPM party at RTC cross road.

Two printing machines and newsprint, worth around Rs one crore were gutted down in the fire, they said.  CPM state secretary M Raghavulu who visited the spot said the fire was caused due to short circuit in the printing press.
