Kodak eyes digital printing space in India

Imaging solutions provider Kodak has ranked India among the top three critical markets for the company and is eyeing a significant space in the digital printing market of the country.

KOLKATA: Imaging solutions provider Kodak has ranked India among the top three critical markets for the company and is eyeing a significant space in the digital printing market of the country, a company official said.
    
Regional director (Asia Pacific) of Kodak Jeffrey Protherde said that India was a critical market for the company after China and Japan.
    
He said that Kodak, which specialises in various imaging techniques, said that the digital printing market in India was emerging.
    
Globally, the digital printing market was 15 per cent of the total printing market and was growing.
    
He said that Bollywood was an important market for the company as majority of the movies were being shot using Kodak films.
   
However, he said that the 35mm film market was dying with the advent of digital cameras.
    
The Kodak official said that the company was aiming at 20 per cent growth in graphic communications business in the country.
   
City-based Anderson Printing House today installed the latest Kodak Nexpress 2100 Plus digital printer at its facility.
   
This was the first such machine installed in the entire east and northern parts of the country.
