Hiten Tejwani's character was ‘modified’ to allow the actor shoot with conjunctivitis

The show never stops in the glam industry come what may. Recently, TV actor Hiten Tejwani was suffering from conjunctivitis, but he could not afford to stay away from the sets.

Apart from Balaji’s Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Hiten is also associated with Karam Apna Apna.

However, his co-stars were a bit wary of shooting with him, fearing the contagious ailment.

So, the creative team of Karam Apna Apna devised a new strategy. They tweaked the script a bit. Subsequently, they made his character sport glasses. In this way neither was the shooting stalled nor were the co-actors made to feel uncomfortable.

Hiten says, “The moment I realised that I had got conjunctivitis, I went to the doctor. Now, I am carrying antibiotics with me and washing my eyes very often. In fact, I took care of my eyes from the very beginning, so the situation is quite under control.”

He adds, “People are a little conscious of working with me. But I am trying my best not to spread the infection. The creative team of Karam Apna Apna told me that my character would be wearing glasses in the show for a while. I am quite happy with the development.”

Isn’t it taxing? “This is the age of professionalism. We do not have an episode bank. So shooting is essential. Though, they are also co-operating with a few heat shoots, I have to be present for the crucial scenes,” he concludes.
