Jyotirmayee's body released; to reach India on Saturday

LONDON: The body of an Indian student who was killed allegedly by a compatriot in a Birmingham suburb earlier this month, was released by the authorities on Tuesday, and will reach India on Saturday.
    
The embalmed body of V Jyotirmayee Nagasaibabu, a post graduate student from Vijaywada was killed in her flat, would be brought here on Thursday, official sources said.
    
It would reach Hyderabad at 0100 hours on Saturday in a KLM Cargo which will fly via Amsterdam, they said.
    
An official of the Wolverhampton University from where 23-year-old Jyotirmayee was doing her MS degree in Health Sciences will attend the funeral and also hand over a cheque towards refund of the fee to her parents.
    
Meanwhile, 24-year-old Nagraj Kumar Nalloori, also from Andhra Pradesh, who was staying with her has been charged with her murder. He will appear before the Birmingham Magistrates Court on July 25.
    
Professor Caroline Gipps, Vice Chancellor, Wolverhampton University described Jyotirmayee as a model international student and "our priority remains offering her parents comfort and full support in their grief."
    
Jyotirmayee, who was doing "exceptionally well" in her studies, had joined the post-graduate course on a scholarship last September after her family sold off some ancestral property to fund her education.
