SYDNEY: The Indian team suffered a jolt when its young strike bowler Ishant Sharma sustained a finger injury during the Australian innings in first match of the best of three finals in the one-day cricket tri-series here on Sunday.
    
Ishant's swollen middle finger will be assessed before the second final in Brisbane on Tuesday, it was revealed by team manager Bimal Soni after the match.
    
"He has swelling in the middle fingerthere was pain and fluid and we sent him for X-ray. We feared major injury but fortunately, it wasn't so," Soni said.
    
"He still has got swelling and we would assess him on the morning of the match," he said.
    
The Delhi paceman, who contributed 5-0-19-1 in India's six-wicket win, suffered the injury when he was bowling his last over of his first spell and had to return to the dressing room.
