NEW DELHI: India's highest ranked golfer Jyoti Randhawa achieved a new career milestone when he broke the $two million barrier in career earnings on the Asian Tour.

Thanks to his tied seventh finish in the Jakarta Open, Randhawa, a former Asian Tour number one, raked in $30,960 to raise his total career earnings to $2,009,509 and became only the second player, after Thai star Thongchai Jaidee, to surpass $two million.

Thongchai leads the Asian Tour career earnings chart with $2,605,237.

The 35-year-old Randhawa, a six-time winner in Asia, extended his steady start to the year in which he picked up $26,000 from the season-opening Indian Masters two weeks ago and maintained his momentum in Jakarta where he closed with a superb eight-under-par 62.

There is a significant Indian flavour in the top-five of Asian Tour's Order of Merit race following Jeev Milkha Singh's rise to second place.

Jeev, the 2006 Asian Tour number one, earned $133,330 after finishing second in Indonesia.

Compatriot SSP Chowrasia remained firmly on top of the rankings with $416,660 following his stunning victory at the Indian Masters two weeks ago.

Thailand's Prom Meesawat moved to fourth place on the Order of Merit thanks to his third place result in Jakarta.

With $81,060 in the bank this season, the burly Thai lurks behind third ranked Indian player Digvijay Singh.

India's Gaurav Ghei is in fifth place on the money list while New Zealander Mark Brown is sixth.

After his performance yesterday, Randhawa was ranked seventh and is a mere $220 ahead of Arjun Atwal who is eighth.

The Asian Tour now moves back to India for the inaugural SAIL Open Golf Championship at Jaypee Greens Resort in Greater Noida.

The $400,000 tournament, which will be headlined by Chowrasia and last year's Order of Merit champion Liang Wen-chong of China, will begin on Wednesday instead of the customary Thursday start.
