KARACHI: Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik has ruled out any major shuffling in the side when they take on Zimbabwe at home in the one-day series.

Malik said the tour was a good opportunity to try out some of the youngsters, who had been performing well at the domestic level.

"But it would be foolish to go for a lot of changes. I think one or two changes in a match is good enough. After all we need to win the series to regain our confidence after the defeats in India," he said.

Malik said they were not underestimating Zimbabwe.

"They beat Australia in the Twenty20 World Cup and the West Indies recently in a one-dayer."

He said he would attend the high performance camp organised by the Pakistan cricket Board in which the country's top performers in domestic cricket have been invited.

"We need to expand our bench strength and the camp is a good platform to have a look at the techniques of these performers and see if they are ready for international cricket," Malik said.

The Pakistan skipper also called on PCB to prepare more sporting pitches in domestic cricket so that players could get an opportunity to play on different surfaces.

Malik also hit back at critics who questioned his captaincy skills as well as his place in the Test side.

"They just need to look at my Test record. One bad series does not mean I am not a good player," he said.

Zimbabwe are scheduled to arrive here on Saturday. They will start with a four-day warm-up match from Monday before the one-day series, kicking off from January 21 in Karachi.
