RAJKOT: Security arrangements have been tightened at sensitive points in the city ahead of Tuesday's state assembly election, police said here on Monday.
   
At least 16 Para-military force and six Border Wing team have been deployed at sensitive polling booths besides setting up 24 Mobile Check Post and 13 'striking force' to avoid any untoward incidents in the district, sources said.
   
According to the police, night patrolling will be enhanced and bootleggers and notorious criminals have been detained to ensure peaceful voting, they said.

At least 84 candidates are contesting in the election in the district which will be held at 2441 booths, sources said.
   
About 10,000 persons has been appointed for the election duty by the district authority which has also made arrangement for visually impaired voters by putting a special Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) at every booth, sources from the district authority said.
