MUMBAI: Police is contemplating fixing the responsibility for the rape and murder of 21-year-old Jyotikumari Chaudhary, an employee of a Wipro BPO in Pune, on the company.
Superintendent of Police (Rural) Vishwas Nangre Patil said the investigating officers would be submitting a set of questionnaire in consultation with legal advisers to fix the responsibility for the alleged negligence shown by the company officials.
According to Patil, it is an exercise to track down officials who apparently did not bother to find out about the girl’s failure to report for night shift on November 1.
“There are certain security guidelines of the BPO, but they don’t follow them. The reporting time of Chaudhary to her office was 11 pm, but even after she did not turn up till 1.30 am, the BPO officials did not bother to check about her whereabouts,” Patil said.
