Judge charged with outraging modesty of a young lawyer

NAGPUR: A Nagpur lower court judge has been accused of outraging the modesty of a law graduate in his chamber here on Thursday.
    
A complain against the judge has been made to the Senior Administrative Judge of Nagpur Bench of Mumbai High Court Justice Dilip Sinha as also to the District Judge T B Nalawade.
    
According to sources, the incident took place in the chamber of the judge concerned in the district court premises, when the young law graduate went there to meet him, with one of her senior colleagues Prakash Thombre, a former lower court judge himself.
    
However, soon after coming out of the chamber, the girl accused the judge of outraging her modesty and approached a local woman's organisation Bharatiya Stree Shakti and Social Security Committee and through them met Justice Sinha.
    
He has since accepted the memorandum of the grieving girl and other woman's organisations and assured them that he will forward the documents to the Bombay High Court.
    
When contacted, Advocate Padma Chandekar, ex-secretary and Executive Committee Member of Vidarbha Lady Lawyers' Association (VLLA) said that they have since taken up the issue and met Justice Sinha and sought action against the judge concerned.
    
Chandekar said that they have asked the court to protect the dignity of the girl at any cost.
