NDA to discuss strategy on N-deal tomorrow

NEW DELHI: NDA leaders will meet on Monday to discuss strategy in Parliament vis-a-vis the Indo-US nuclear deal after the political development over the week-end.

"Any further decision on the issue would be taken by the NDA, which would discuss its strategy in tomorrow's (Monday's) meeting," BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said at a press conference here on Sunday.

Naqvi said the NDA leaders may also discuss the option of bringing a no-confidence motion against the government.

Commenting on the party's view-point on the present situation, he said, "the BJP is concerned over the developments which has pushed the country into a mid-term-poll kind of situation."

"Our's is a cadre-based party. If the situation warrants an election, we are ready for it," he said.

Naqvi said top party leaders would lead a march to Parliament tomorrow after a farmer's rally to protest government's policies on agriculture.

The farmers' rally will he held at Ramlila Maidan here. It will be addressed by top BJP leaders, including Atal Bihari Vajpayee, L K Advani and party President Rajnath Singh.
