SC admits Salem's appeal against TADA court order in Jain case

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday admitted an appeal filed by gangster Abu Salem against the TADA court order in Mumbai framing charges against him in the murder of builder Pradeep Jain.

A Bench Headed by Chief Justice KG Balakrishnan said the trial in the case will proceed but the final order will not be passed.

Salem had contended that the offence under which he has been charged was not part of the extradition treaty with the Portugal government from where he was extradited.
