Bhutia's double takes India to second win in Portugal

Bhaichung Bhutia struck a second successive brace to guide India to a 3-2 win over Portugal's third division side AC Marinhense at Estadio Municipal Marinha Grande in Lisbon on Thursday.

    NEW DELHI: Bhaichung Bhutia struck a second successive brace to guide India to a 3-2 win over Portugal's third division side AC Marinhense at Estadio Municipal Marinha Grande in Lisbon on Thursday.

    Bhutia found the net in the 51st and 75th minute after Sunil Chetri opened India's account in the 37th minute.

    The Marinhense took the lead with a 10th minute strike by Yuran but could not hold on to it for long as Chetri scored to make it 1-1 at half time.

    The second half belonged to Bhutia, who took the Indians into the lead with his 51st minute goal but Marinhense were quick to draw parity with a 60th minute goal by Yuran again.

    However, Bhutia ensured India's second win on the trip by scoring his fourth goal of the tour.

    India will take on another third division side GDR Monsanto in the final match of the tour at Estadio Torres Novas on Sunday.
