This is probably one of those rare instances where the production house of a serial is being changed even before the show has gone on air. ‘Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai’, a family soap soon to be launched on Zee, which was originally being produced by the veteran Dinesh Bansal (of ‘Kurukshetra’ and ‘Basera’) is now being produced by Shreya Creations.

Apparently, the change was brought about by the channel when it realised that Dinesh Bansal’s Meteor Films didn’t execute plans as they should have been.

“The channel had wanted the production team to construct a set at Karjat and made certain payments towards it. But Meteor Films went ahead and constructed a concrete structure,” says a source.

That apart, there were several discrepancies on other occasions too, which put the channel off. Apparently, Meteor films had not even been able to start shooting before the channel decided to hand over the production to Shreya Creations.

Misha Gautam, co-producer Shreya Creations says, “We were commissioned by the channel to do this serial and so we are doing it.” Incidentally, in the past too Shreya Creations has taken over the production of several serials including ‘Mamta’ (Zee), ‘Kajjal’ and ‘Ek Ladki Anjaani Si’ (both on Sony) and ‘Dekho Magar Pyar Se’.

It has also earned the reputation of being the ‘takeover specialist’. Misha comments on this strange co-incidence, “Every time, it was the channel that asked us to take over.”

Interestingly, most shows have done well after they have been taken over by Shreya. “I guess we have a good team that converts a non-profit making serial into a profit making,” Misha adds. It is also specualted that Shreya Creations is taking over ‘Durgesh Nandini’ (Sony). However, Misha said that they were just rumours.

Dinesh Bansal did not respond to our calls. However, a source from Meteor Films says, “The channel has been giving us a tough time. They have been quite unreasonable in their expectations from us.”

When contacted, Ashwini Yardi, programming head, Zee said it was too early to comment. The serial has Vineet Raina (Veer of ‘Maayka’) and Aleeza (Gauri of ‘Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann’) in the lead.
