NEW DELHI: Australian legend Ian Chappell on Monday joined Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri and Wasim Akram as a member of the ESPN STAR Sports' cricket commentary team.

Chappell became a part of the panel of 'A Few Good Men' which also includes seasoned commentatorsn Wilkins and Harsha Bhogle.

On his new assignment, Chappell said, "the ion for the game and the level of understanding Indian fans have about the finer nuances of cricket has always amazed me. I am looking forward to this challenging assignment."

ESPN Managing Director R C Venkateish said, "Ian has a huge fan following. I expect he will provide an interesting dimension to the team."

Chappell, who made his debut in a Test series against Pakistan in 1964, played 75 Tests and scored 5345 runs at an average of 42.42 in his 17-year-lonreer. He played 16 one-day internationals and scored 673 runs at an average of 48.07.
