Sun TV's Chutti leads kids channel segment in TN

Sun TV said TAM released data had put the market share for the first launch week of Chutti TV at 7.35 in Chennai and 4.26 in rest of Tamil Nadu among all age groups.

MUMBAI: Just after six weeks of its launch, Sun TV's kids channel 'Chutti TV' has grabbed majority market share in the segment in Tamil Nadu, leaving existing competitors such as Toon Disney and Pogo much behind.

"According to TAM data for the week ending May 5, Chutti TV's market share dominates the kids segment with 9.78 followed by Toon Disney at 4.21, Pogo at 2.46 and Disney at 0.15," Sun TV said in filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

Sun TV further said TAM released data had put the market share for the first launch week of Chutti TV at 7.35 in Chennai and 4.26 in rest of Tamil Nadu among all age groups.

"After launch of Chutti TV, we have the leadership in all genres from mainstream (SUN TV) to movies (KTV), music channels (Sun Music) to news (Sun News) and now the kids segment too," Sun TV said.

The shares of Sun TV were last trading at Rs 1,516, up 3.14 per cent on the BSE.
