MUMBAI: L&T Infotech, the IT and engineering services arm of Larsen & Toubro, has laid out aggressive growth plans in the next three to four years. In the run-up to next year’s IPO, it has unveiled a new brand identity by changing the logo.
The company targets over $1 billion in revenues in as many years and expects to contribute about 10-15% of the group’s revenues and 20% of the profit.

AK Naik, CMD, L&T, said: “When most of the IT companies play the volumes game, I do not wish to do so. We do not wish to be the biggest IT company in terms of volumes. In that respect we will always remain a tier-two company. However, L&T Infotech has the advantage of being able to draw upon real experience and domain knowledge of the various business divisions of the parent firm. So we will be competing with tier-one companies in client satisfaction, state-of-art facilities, employee satisfaction and retention.”

L&T Infotech employees 7200 people, which it plans to grow to 20,000 by 2010. It is setting up IT facilities in Chennai, Bangalore and Mumbai for which it will spend Rs 500-600 crore.

The company is also building an engineering hub at Baroda, which requires an investment of Rs 200-300 crore.
