GURGAON: A local court on Wednesday directed cricketer Yuvraj Singh to appear before it on August 18 for allegedly beating and misbehaving with former TV newscaster Neelam Mahajan and her son Yuvraj Mahajan at his residence in Gurgaon.

While allowing the exemption granted by the Punjab and Haryana High Court for not appearing in Gurgaon court on Wednesday, Ranina Aggarwal, Judicial Magistrate (First Class) directed that he has to, however, appear before the court on August 18 and take the permanent exemption from the local court.

Yuvraj has not made any appearance in the local court on the plea that he is busy while playing cricket for the country since the case filed in January this year.
