Gujarat police questions Sohrabuddin's landlord

INDORE: A Gujarat police official has questioned the landlord of a house in which Sohrabuddin Sheikh, killed in a fake encounter in Gujarat, was living in 2003 in the Khijrabad colony here.

The CID inspector enquired on Friday from a person identified as Ibrahim about Sohrabuddin, police sources said here on Saturday.

Besides, Ibrahim, police also questioned the sisters of Kausar Bi, Sohrabuddin's wife, in connection with the encounter case, the sources said.

However, police refused to reveal any details about the questioning.

Sohrabuddin, who belonged to Jhirniya village in Ujjain district, was allegedly involved in various cases of extortion and a case was also registered against him in the Lasudia police station.

The sources added that a police team from Gujarat has also recovered 26 AK-56 rifles from a well situated on a government land adjacent to Sohrabuddin's house in Jhirnya village in 1995.
