Accident prone Manava

It seems like Manava Naik and scooters are not meant for each other! The actor, who plays the gregarious Punjabi bahu Manjit in ‘Teen Bahuraniyan’ (Zee), has had two mishaps back-to-back with a scooter while shooting for the show.

Manava laughs as she recounts the incidents saying, “I’m shown to be an expert scooter rider in ‘Teen Bahuraniyan’. Though I’m not proficient, I do know how to ride a scooter. Hence, I insisted that I’ll do all the scenes myself.” She continues, “But on the first day of the shoot itself, I rammed my scooter into my co-star Manish Rai Singhania’s car, making a big dent in it! I had not even met him till then! Thankfully, he was sweet enough to ignore my mistake. But I hurt myself badly.”

Manava continues, “After a couple of weeks, I felt that I had become a pro in riding the two-wheeler. But how wrong I was! Just three days back, I once again met with an accident while filming a sequence.” Manava adds that she had to skillfully manouvre the scooter to avoid it falling into a ditch. “Whilst doing that,  my leg got scraped badly! I really need to take riding lessons now if I want to avoid getting into any more accidents!” laughs Manava, who seems to be going through a bad phase.

Earlier the actor had contracted a terrible eye infection after having developed an allergy to a make-up product. “My eye was swollen and red! It was a bad experience. But the only positive outcome was that I got a break for two days —something that we actors yearn for!”
