The actor treated her unit on finding her lost baggage

The unit of ‘Ghar Ek Sapna’ (Sahara One) was in for a cool treat recently thanks to actor Himani Shivpuri. Himani, who plays Ujjwal Rana aka Samman’s mother in the serial, had promised to treat the crew when she would find her baggage that she had lost at Dubai airport.   

Apparently, Himani had been to Dubai on work. She says, “Yes, I had gone to Dubai to act in an Indo-Pak serial. These are generally 13 episodic serials which I have been doing for the past four years. These serials are in huge demand in Dubai and the rest of the Middle East.”  

Himani had an enjoyable experience at Dubai until the day she was scheduled to return. Himani says, “Now when one goes to Dubai, one does shop a lot. I bought a lot of exotic food like Tofu and smoked salmon, which are generally not available in Mumbai. I was carrying more luggage than I was permitted to. I was aware that I would have to pay duty but the amount of duty levied on me was obscenely huge. I was arguing with them that they were being unfair. Meanwhile, my bag got stolen. By the time I realized this, it was nowhere to be seen! I immediately complained to the airport authorities and what followed was a harrowing round of incessant phone calls that kept getting transferred from one officer to another. Finally after 8-10 days, I got a call from the authorities saying that they had traced my bag. I rushed to the airport only to realize with dismay that the bag was cut open and thoroughly damaged due to careless handling. All the expensive food had melted and got spoilt. But I had promised to treat the unit if my bag was found,” the sporting actress.
